I’m Mike Rathnsooriya, a UX–Product Designer based in Brisbane, Australia.

Originally from Sri Lanka, I’ve spent over a decade working across industries such as HR platforms, insurance products, and public-sector systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and product leadership to deliver meaningful, production-ready experiences.

Design Approach
My design approach is grounded in clarity, structure, and collaboration. I focus on understanding the problem space deeply—balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints—before shaping solutions that are practical, scalable, and easy to use.
I work closely with cross-functional teams through planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and structured design reviews. By collaborating directly with product leadership, engineering, and QA, I ensure design intent is clearly communicated and carried through from concept to delivery.
I measure success by how well a product performs in real-world use—whether it reduces friction, improves efficiency, or enables teams and users to achieve their goals with confidence.
